Prior to EMR, Aaron was Chief Investment Officer of Minderoo Group. Minderoo is the largest shareholder of Fortescue Metals Group and also holds a large portfolio of mining and agricultural investments and represents the private interests of Andrew Forrest. He was responsible for managing Minderoo’s investment portfolio and lead the commercial and corporate development opportunities of the group. He invested across the mining industry in direct ordinary equity, convertible notes and structured royalty streams. Aaron was a founding director and set up Minderoo’s mining investment vehicle, Squadron Resources. He also held the position as non-executive director of ASX listed resource development companies, Impact Minerals and Vimy Resources.  Aaron also Chaired Western Australia’s largest beef processor, Harvey Beef.

Prior to joining Minderoo he spent 10 years as Executive Director of one of Australia’s longest established private equity firms in Sydney and Perth and made investments in oil and gas services, mining services, manufacturing and retail. Aaron held directorships with Bhagwan Marine, Adairs, Global Television and Aperio Group which had a combined turnover in excess of A$2 billion.

Aaron commenced his career with Macquarie Bank in the industrials and property investment banking team in Sydney.

Aaron holds Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Bachelor of Commerce both from UWA, a MBA from INSEAD, and is Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
