Professor Jackson is a senior resources executive with 35 years of global resources experience in mining sustainability, environmental and community affairs. He is one of the world’s foremost experts in this area.
He was previously Manager of Community Relations and Sustainability for Oxiana.
Professor Jackson’s key role with EMR Capital will be to assess and manage the social and community relations aspects of a mining project which, today, is one of the key risks associated with any mining project.
Professor Jackson has worked on community affairs projects in numerous countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Philippines, PNG, the Pacific island countries, North America and West Africa.
He has worked with many of the EMR Capital members in the past.
Professor Jackson holds a doctorate degree, D Phil, from Oxford University and a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) (First Class Honours) from Oxford University. Richard has published extensively on the subject of mining sustainability.
